This is a British national museum. Five branches of IWM have been located in England. Three branches are located in London. This was formed in 1917 as Imperial War Museum.
King George V opened the Imperial War Museum on 9th June 1920 and it changed the location to this location from the South Kensington in 1936.
Imperial War Museum, London brings the story of the people who lived from the First World War to the present day and how their lives have been formed.
The aim of this museum is to tell the story of the civil and military war attempt, memorize Britain and its Empire who sacrifice their lives within the period of 1st world war. The museum expanded to record all the conflicts which British or Commonwealth forces have initiated since 1914. The museum provides better understanding of the history of modern war and the experience of wartime.
