Previously, in order to access the bank collection need to have an appointment and the visitors are carried away to a small display area. Then the bank of England determined to view it to a large number of audiences. Therefore, they planned to open a new museum in 1994, on behalf of the bank’s tercentenary.
The museum consists of a wide range of collections which includes details from the history of the banks from its foundation in 1694 to the modern day of the banks. The role of the bank of England museum today is to serve the nations as the central bank. It consists of their unique collections of coins, bank-notes, prints, silvers, paintings, books, photographs. The bank role is explained through the audio visual displays.
